How to keep this plant alive
Find the right spot
Your urban jungle is not complete without this Zebrina. His long stems have a zebra-like pattern, making this plant a true eyecatcher in your interior. Place him on a half-shade spot as he likes a little ray of sunshine but can’t handle direct sunlight. Do you have a west- or east facing window? Perfect! You could place him near a window facing south as well, but be sure to keep at least 2 meters of distance from the window.
How thirsty is this plant?
Well, he is quite a drinker. The Zebrina likes the soil to be slightly moist but does not like to have his roots in water. We advise you to give small amounts of water regularly and place him in a pot where the water can drain if possible. Do you want to make him even happier? Spray the leafs with a plant sprayer because the Zebrina is not a fan of dry air.
Did you know…?
- That if he grows a new leaf he often drops an old one? So don’t be alarmed if an older leaf suddenly hangs and turns yellowish. This is quite normal. It is best to cut this leaf away so that it can put all its energy into growing a new one.
